Supporting Our Community

Our Business Philosophy

At Jaca, we aim to show love to those in need by making our contribution. By choosing to shop with us, you are not only supporting your needs but also extending a helping hand to others in the community.

Jaca's Commitment to the Ellesmere Food Bank Trust

At Jaca, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. We are proud to announce that we donate $0.99 from every pair of socks sale to the Ellesmere Food Bank Trust. Your purchases not only bring you quality products but also help us make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.

Founded almost 30 years ago, the Ellesmere Food Bank Trust was established with the vision of supporting the needy in our community. Serving the Selwyn community and beyond, the food bank distributes between 4,000 to 6,000 boxes each year, offering essential support to families and individuals facing challenging circumstances.

Over the years, the Ellesmere Food Bank has gained a reputation for its dedication and compassion, earning respect and support from local residents. With two vehicles and a trailer, the team efficiently manages pickups and drop-offs, sourcing produce from various local contributors, including Skinners, Oakleys, Dunsandel Orchard, Jade Gardens, Christchurch Prison, Women’s Prison, and Mt Pleasant Farm. Any surplus produce is generously shared with other food banks in Christchurch.

If you wish to donate to the Ellesmere Food Bank Trust or need assistance, please contact Daniel or Leonie at 03 324 3576. Your support is invaluable, and together, we can make a positive impact in our community.

Thank you for being a part of this mission. Together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community.
